Get started today

STEP 1
Complete a home energy assessment through your municipal utility to determine whether there is opportunity for weatherization in your home.

STEP 2
Work with a participating contractor to identify and complete specific weatherization improvements.

STEP 3
Your contractor submits a virtual quality assurance form to Abode. We review the submission and approve it remotely if possible, or complete an in-home inspection and work with the contractor to resolve any work issues if needed.

STEP 4
The rebate is processed and customers enjoy a more comfortable, efficient home.
TMLP REBATES
TMLP provides no-cost home energy assessments and rebates for eligible weatherization improvements.
REBATE PROCESS
In order to be eligible for a rebate through MGED, the project must adhere to the eligibility verification and quality assurance review process.
STEP 1: HOME ENERGY AUDIT
If weatherization measures were identified at your no-cost home energy audit, then the measures must be installed within 6 months (before or after) of the heat pump installation.
STEP 2: WEATHERIZATION CONSULTATION
Abode Energy Management (Abode) provides no-cost consultations to TMLP customers regarding weatherization. Completing the no-cost weatherization consultation is the required first step to beginning your weatherization journey.
STEP 3: SCOPING VISIT
Work with a participating contractor to determine exactly what weatherization improvements can be made to the home. Participating contractors have agreed to provide standardized weatherization recommendations and pricing consistent with statewide programs. Participating contractors also adhere to the required quality assurance and rebate processes.
STEP 4: PRE-APPROVAL APPLICATION
STEP 5: TMLP SAVES APPLICATION
STEP 5: INSTALL UPGRADES
Weatherization must be installed in conjunction with a heat pump system. Weatherization upgrades can be installed within 6 months before or after the heat pump install.
STEP 6: QUALITY ASSURANCE
During and after installation, the HPC completes a post-installation quality assurance (QA) form for the weatherization installation. This is a digital form submitted by the HPC directly to Abode, including photos taken during and after weatherization install. Abode will review the install remotely. If needed, Abode will schedule an in-home weatherization inspection.
